Bank Holiday Monday saw the 14th Divorce Handicap Mixed doubles tournament at the
club.  20 pairs battled it out following coffee and croissants!

The weather forcast was not great so a slightly earlier start was scheduled.  Despite the rain everyone was in good spirits and the tournament was under way.

Some good performances early on, questions were being asked about players peaking too soon but eventually it came down to 8 pairs battling it out for the trophy.  Some good performances from Pierre and Neave, Ian and Lindy, Paul and Etty, Phil and Emma gave them their semi final places.

Despite some athletic movement from Pierre and consistent serving from Neeve, experience prevailed and Ian and Lindy went through to the final to meet Paul and Etty who were on good form, beating Phil and Emma. The final was ready to go and, with the weather improving, a crowd emerged to watch the final. It was neck and neck but with a solid performance from Lindy and good finishing from Ian, the trophy was in their sights and indeed the trophy was their’s.

Another fantastic day at the club and enjoyed by all competetiors and spectators.

We will be notified of our Wimbledon ticket allocation w/c 26th March.

Notices will be put up in the clubhouse from Wednesday March 28th for you to sign against the dates you would like to be entered into the ballot .

You must be a British Tennis Member (BTM) linked to the club  to be included in the ballot. If you’re not already a BTM, join now.

You must enter your BTM number in the relevant column next to your name – NO BTM NUMBER / NO ENTRY INTO THE BALLOT!

If you are already a BTM member you must make sure you are linked to PLTC on the LTA website – you can do this by logging into the members’ area of the website – once logged in follow the steps below:

Step 1. Click on ‘Manage Account’ at the top right-hand side of the page.

Step 2. Click on ‘Place to Play Affiliation on the right-hand menu.

Step 3. Select the correct county from the drop-down menu.

Step 4. You will now see a second drop-down menu featuring all the clubs within this county. Select the correct club from the drop-down menu. You can link yourself to more than one club.

Step 5. If there are any Places to Play listed under Club/Park Membership that you are no longer a member of, click on the red cross to remove your link to that venue. Once you’ve followed the above steps, you will be eligible for our British Tennis Membership Wimbledon ballot.

Please note that the online system also means there are changes to how you make payment for your Wimbledon tickets if you are successful in the club’s Wimbledon ballot.

• You will have 14 days in which to make payment direct to the LTA, either on the phone or online. (All the information winners require will be given)
• If anyone misses the deadline, they will not be able to get their tickets back and they will not be eligible to win another pair of tickets.
• If anyone declines/misses the deadline for their tickets, we will manually reallocate them to another eligible BTM.

Make sure you don’t miss out – check your BTM number or join – visit the clubhouse in the next 2 weeks and sign up for the ballot.
