Recap of the Middlesex Tennis Summer League 2022

Over 60 matches were played throughout the summer months, as our five men's and four women's teams have finished this year's Middlesex Tennis Summer League with some great results.


Men's


The Men's IV team narrowly missed out on promotion last year, but this year they topped Division 4 comfortably and earned a spot in Division 3 next year. Men's V finished mid-table and will stay in Division 4 for another year.


After being promoted last year, the Men's II and III teams faced a tougher proposition this year in Intermediate and Division 1 respectively. The Men's II team did a great job by avoiding relegation, but the Men's III team narrowly got relegated from the final match of their season. Men's I team will be in the Premier Division for another year.


Women's


The Women's I team made a strong statement of intent by topping Division 1 after being relegated last year. They will be back in Intermediate Division next year.


The Women's II team almost made it another team to get promoted, but missed out by a couple of points to finish 3rd in Division 3. The Women's III team finished mid-table in their group, but the Women's IV team were relegated.

Men's II: 6th in Intermediate Division

Women's II: 3rd in Division 3

Men's III: 7th in Division 1 (Relegated to Division 2)

Women's III: 4th in Division 4

Men's IV: 1st in Division 4 (Promoted to Division 3)

Women's IV: 8th in Division 5 (Relegated to Division 6)

Men's V: 5th in Division 4

Summer of Fun 2023 It's never quiet in Little Moss Lane, Pinner, home of Pinner Lawn Tennis Club. This year has been no exception with over 50 entries for the social tennis, fun season opener and our own Wimbledon Grand Slam event, of course the afternoon tea, pancake night and Caribbean party night were popular too. We have even had a snooker night, it never stops! The season opener included naming court 2 in honour of much missed Martin Simonis, a fitting tribute to an outstanding club and committee member. With 9 teams playing in the Middlesex Summer League the serious match tennis took over. At the time of writing we have won two league titles, so congratulations to the Men's 3 and Ladies 2 and we have four promotion parties to plan as well! "This will probably be our most successful year, it's not all about the tennis, so we will have some social time too", said Club Chairman Paul Brazell. Our coaching team have been amazing and our developing junior members have made great progress gaining places in many of the senior teams and taking some big wins in the early rounds of our 14 club tournaments, with players from 12 to 80 years of age taking part!
