Recap of the Middlesex Tennis Summer League 2023

Over 60 matches were played throughout the summer months, as our five men's and four women's teams have finished this year's Middlesex Tennis Summer League with some great results. There was great support from valued members.

Men's

Men's I and II teams will be in the Premier and Intermediate Divisions for another year. Men's 3 WON the Division 2 title and were promoted to Division 1, a fabulous season. Men's IV missed out on promotion narrowly and will remain in Division 3. It was a similar result for the fabulous Men's V, narrowly missing out on promotion by just 3 points and will remain in Division IV. Great spirit and organisation by all teams.

Women's

The Women's I fought a strong campaign and remain in the Intermediate Division. Ladies II dominated in Division 3 winning the league with comfort and move up to Division 2, well done. Ladies III were second place this year and will be promoted to play in Division 3 next summer. The Ladies success continued with team IV who were promoted to Division V. What a season of success for all the Ladies teams, fabulous.

Well done to everyone involved this year, the results must be a record season for the club.

Summer of Fun 2023 It's never quiet in Little Moss Lane, Pinner, home of Pinner Lawn Tennis Club. This year has been no exception with over 50 entries for the social tennis, fun season opener and our own Wimbledon Grand Slam event, of course the afternoon tea, pancake night and Caribbean party night were popular too. We have even had a snooker night, it never stops! The season opener included naming court 2 in honour of much missed Martin Simonis, a fitting tribute to an outstanding club and committee member. With 9 teams playing in the Middlesex Summer League the serious match tennis took over. At the time of writing we have won two league titles, so congratulations to the Men's 3 and Ladies 2 and we have four promotion parties to plan as well! "This will probably be our most successful year, it's not all about the tennis, so we will have some social time too", said Club Chairman Paul Brazell. Our coaching team have been amazing and our developing junior members have made great progress gaining places in many of the senior teams and taking some big wins in the early rounds of our 14 club tournaments, with players from 12 to 80 years of age taking part!
